Regrettably there will not be a summer meet. We hope to return in 2023.Needham Youth Invite Meet Premiered on July 24, 2021
This new one-day meet for children ages 6-14 will takes place at DeFazio Track, 360 Dedham Avenue, Needham MA 02492.2021 Results here.

- Online registration only at athletic.net closes at midnight on Monday, July 19, 2021
- There will be NO DAY-OF REGISTRATION
- Child age 5 and under are invited to participate in the untimed 50m exhibition race at 12:30 pm (no charge)
- All races are final times
- Rolling schedule
- Non-vaccinated spectators and participants are encouraged to wear masks
- Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each event for each age category. Awards can be picked up at the Awards Tent starting 30 minutes after the event concludes.
- Price is $17 per child (includes entry for 1 event), $8 each for extra events

Needham Youth Classic ~ Saturday, July 20, 2019 ~ 30th Annual Meet
DeFazio Track - 360 Dedham Ave. - Needham MA
The Needham Youth Classic had its start in 1989 at Memorial Field in Needham and has become the largest open youth outdoor track and field meet in the Northeastern US. The meet provides an opportunity for children to compete against the best in running and field events. The meet comprises over 20 events for age 2-14. Trophies are awarded to all winners, high finishing teams, and athletes of the meet. Medals or ribbons are awarded to all participants.
- Ages: Open to children 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 (age on day of meet - July 20, 2019)
- Running events: 50M, 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 1500M, 50 Hurdles (age 5-8), 80 Hurdles (age 9-12), 100 Hurdles (age 13-14), 4x100 Relay
- Field events: Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Turbo Jav, Standing Long Jump, Softball Throw
- Fees: $24-$34 (age 5-14 - competitive), $17 (age 1-4+ non-competitive) Up to 2 running and 2 field events, $12 extra event, $20 per relay team

Close to 500 came to compete in the 29th Needham Youth Classic. Competition included 10 running events (from 50 to 3000 meters) and 7 field events. 9 meet records were set in the clear warm weather. Chase Sullivan of Cambridge Jets showed his diversity with 7 wins and 1 meet record (800 Race Walk*, 400, 4x100 Relay, Long Jump, Standing Long Jump*, High Jump, Standing Triple Jump). Magnolia Kushner of Needham Youth TC wore a dress but scored 6 wins and 2 records (Hurdles, 4x100 Relay, Standing Long Jump, Softball Throw*, Turbo Jav and Heptathlon. Novas Track Club prevail in 2014 Youth Classic
Over 500 came to compete in the 24th Needham Youth Classic. Competition included 12 running events (from 50 to 3000 meters) and 8 field events. 25 meet records fell in near perfect weather. The Nova Track Club came out in strength and won the team championship. Kiylah Williams of Central CT Jaguars dominated the age 5-6 Girls events with 7 wins and 3 meet records. She won ALL running events and the Softball Throw. Azaan Dawson of New Haven (age 9-10) completed the first distance sweep in meet history, winning all running events from the 300 through the 3000. Cambridge Jets Win 2013 Youth Classic
Over 500 came to compete in the 24th Needham Youth Classic. Competition included 12 running events (from 50 to 3000 meters) and 8 field events. 15 meet records fell as the heat wave suspended during our meet. The Cambridge Jets won their 1st team championship. Maya Halprins-Adams zipped to a 57.97 finish in the age 15-16 girls 400 Meter, breaking the one minute barrier for the first time ever for girls in the meet. Children from all around the Northeast and as far away as Illinois came together to compete in the 22nd Needham Youth Classic. Competition included 12 running events (from 50 to 3000 meters) and 8 field events. 17 meet records fell in the almost perfect weather (just a little too hot). Saugus (MA) brought forth a large contingent and won 1st place in the team competition while host Needham finished in 4th (see complete team results in box).
