2014 All-Star Meet Brings Holiday Crowd

Children aged 3-14 from all over New England and as far away as Texas came together in the Needham All-Star Meet on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. The meet featured an all-finals format with trophies for all winners and ribbons for others.

All-Star Meet 2014 Information

The Needham All-Star Meet had its official start in 2010. The meet provides an opportunity for children to compete in a complete track meet in a single night. The meet comprises 10 running events and 6 field events for age 3-14. Trophies are awarded to all winners. Medals or ribbons are awarded to all particpants.
  • Ages: Open to children 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14(age on day of meet - July 2, 2014)
  • Running events: 50M, 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 1500M, 50 Hurdles (age 3-8), 80 Hurdles (age 9-12), 100 Hurdles (age 13-14), 4x100 Relay (if time)
  • Field events: Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Turbo Jav, Standing Long Jump, Softball Throw
  • Fees: $11 Registration includes 2 running and 1 field or 1 running and 2 field events. NO extra events
  • Conditions: Rest rooms, No changing facilities

2012 All-Star Meet Survives Heavy Rain

Over to 200 hardy athletes came together in the Needham All-Star Meet on Wednesday, August 1-- from ages 3-14. Children came from Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Hampshire to compete in this all finals night with trophies going to all winners. Peter Crapsey, Jr. of the Bradford Huskies dominated the running events for age 7-8 sweeping the 200 through the 1500 and the hurdles and long jump. Gregory Melusky of the Attleboro Jaguars swept the 50 meter through the 800 meter for age 9-10

Anderson Tops 2011 All-Star Meet

Needham Track Club's 10-year-old Evan Anderson duplicated his Youth Classic performance in winning five events (80 meter hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, Standing Long Jump). The meet drew strong youth athletes from around Massachusetts and surrounding states in a hotly contested, finals only array of 10 running events and 6 field events.
